Our portfolio of services range from PBH support packages for airlines, 24/7 AOG support from both our London and Singapore based distribution centres, engine leasing, innovative material supply programs for MROs including our Beyond.Fleet.Services™ programme in conjunction with SR Technics through to Technical consultancy projects to lessors and operators. AerFin also provide engine disassembly services for CFM and RR engines from our 100,000sqft UK based warehouse.
Summary:
Reporting directly to the Engine MRO Operations Manager, the Engine Shop Technician will be responsible for carrying out maintenance activities associated with AerFin Limited, and customer owned aircraft engines, modules and transportation stands
The Engine Shop Technician must be organised, and determined individual who is a time served, qualified engine technician with relevant experience within an aviation maintenance environment.
The role could involve travel and liaison with external agencies and as a result they must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner and have excellent communication skills to maintain key relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- All assigned maintenance activities as assigned by the Engine MRO Operations Manager I.A.W CAA / FAA & EASA 145 maintenance level approval
- Ability to navigate and find relevant data within the OEM manuals (EMM, AMM, PPBUM, IPC, SPM…) is essential, the ability to further interpret the manual data accurately is also a key requirement
- Will be responsible for all maintenance tasks and expected to conduct all such activities as per OEM / AMM manual requirements using all specified tooling/alternative tooling
- Should have an understanding and appreciation of company Quality Standards (AS9110, CAA145, EASA145 and FAR145)
- Knowledge and understanding of all procedures laid out in MOE / FAA Addendum applicable to maintenance tasks is essential
- Must be aware of the process to maintain safe working practices in line with the AerFin H&S policy
- Material handling
- Ensure tool control is maintained including pre use checks
- Ensure the correct storage and disposal of waste oil & fuels are maintained
- Collaboration and Communication with line manager to provide feedback / update on production schedules / issues in regard to maintenance activities
- Participate in regular meeting with various stakeholders from within the business
- CFM56-5B/7B Experience (Quick Turn / Assembly, Module Swap & Lease transition knowledge )
- All other duties as assigned by the Engine MRO Operations Manager
Education and/or Experience:
- A recognised Engineering apprenticeship and/or relevant industry experience
- Relevant experience of working in an Aviation Workshop environment
Desirable:
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Quantum user, Aviation experience
- V2500 & RB211 Quick Turn / Assembly
- Module Swap & Lease transition experience
- BSI experience
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, bend and use appropriate tooling required for the task including the use of IT equipment
