We are looking for a proactive and highly organised team-player to join our small and friendly Housing Engagement team.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our tenants’ and leaseholders’ voices are at the heart of our decision making and service improvement.
No two days are the same in this role. You will be overseeing a range of involvement activities, such as our Resident Involvement Group meetings; community events; activities within our Independent Living schemes and working with external partners to deliver projects focusing on training and upskilling our residents.
You will be managing an Engagement Officer and 3 x Activities Coordinators, who provide activities within our Independent Living schemes.
We’re looking for someone who can build great rapport with both staff and residents, confidently understand data, and approach challenges creatively. You will also be interested in the wider political landscape and the current issues affecting social housing.

Key responsibilities include:
- ·Developing and embedding resident involvement, providing support and advice to other Officers to effectively involve residents in the decision making process as per regulatory requirements.
- ·Developing and implementing employability opportunities to enable tenants and residents of the Borough to enhance their employability and skills, through opportunities either within the Council or through collaborate working with key stakeholders and partner organisations.
- Coordinating the provision of activities at Independent Living Schemes.
- Developing and reviewing resident involvement methods, policies and procedures to ensure statutory requirements are met.
- Participating in peer networks to share experience and gather good practice.
The ideal candidate would be able to:
- Manage, delegate, lead and motivate staff, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met.
- Competently manage budgets.
- Find the best way to connect with people and find the message that will resonate.
- Manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Confidently run residents’ meetings and deliver presentations.
- Write policies and procedures.
- Provide training on Housing services to engaged tenants and leaseholders.
- Work collaboratively with a range of external stakeholders.

Some evening and weekend work will be required.
