About the Role
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.
Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 depending upon experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
Responsible for supporting the commissioning with contractor packages and the implementation of a safe system of work on the mechanical and electrical systems at the onshore & offshore substations, cable networks and wind turbine transition pieces. The key aspect of the role will be the drafting and implementation of safety documentation to allow the setting to work of small commissioning teams. A key interface will be the Commissioning Management Team and package teams within the project team.
Health and Safety
Preparation and implementation of the Safe System of Work on newly constructed plant and equipment across the wind farm including onshore sub-stations. Preparation and review of commissioning procedures and RAMS.
Execution of Commissioning activities
Execute and support site activities to ensure safe, full and effective commissioning and construction of the project(s) is achieved within programme and in accordance with Company and/or client policies and procedures working with the commissioning engineers and technicians.
Contractor interface and management
Plan and coordinate work with teams of engineers, supervisors, back office and technicians to ensure a high level of motivation and efficiency. Supervise and allocate tasks to commissioning teams including contractors.
Programme and budget
Conduct the commissioning activities for the whole wind farm including also the pre-commissioning onshore at the construction / assembly yards.
What do I need?
Business Knowledge
- Have a relevant technical education, for example an ONC/HNC in engineering (ideally electrical engineering) or equivalent;
- Thrive on working in an engineering role and have prior experience of conducting commissioning activities and managing the associated tasks.
- Experience of wind farm construction, commissioning and/or operations in UK.
- Ideally, have previously worked as an electrical / mechanical engineer or Senior Authorised Person up to at least 66KV.
- Have a strong personal drive and a robust sense of quality and professionalism.
