Role responsibilities

As an Energy and Carbon Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of actions and projects designed to ensure Transport for Wales is managing its energy consumption and reducing and effectively reporting carbon emissions from its activities through the implementation of the Energy Strategy and delivery of the Carbon Management Plan.

Responsibilities to include but not be limited to:

· Develop and implement an ISO 50001 Energy Management System and lead ongoing day-to-day management and reporting of TfW’s energy and utilities consumption

· Drive the implementation of the energy strategy and related plans across the organisation

· Coordinate the delivery of the Carbon Management Plan and associated policies

· Develop and support the delivery of innovative solutions to reduce emissions from TFW’s activities including energy efficiency measures and renewable energy schemes

· Lead on the monitoring and reporting of TfW’s corporate carbon emissions

· Work alongside other teams to implement a strategy to quantify and manage whole life, embodied and infrastructure carbon

· Lead on the delivery of an energy audit programme across our stations and depots.

Who we’re looking for

· Possess a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject

· Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering energy and carbon reduction projects

· Membership of an accredited environmental body, such as EI or IEMA

· Experience of undertaking energy audits

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Experience of leading a team

· Experience of developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. Fel Arweinydd Ynni a Charbon, byddwch yn gyfrifol am gefnogi’r gwaith o gyflawni camau gweithredu a phrosiectau sydd wedi’u dylunio i sicrhau bod Trafnidiaeth Cymru yn rheoli ei ddefnydd o ynni a lleihau allyriadau carbon o’i weithgareddau ac adrodd yn effeithiol arnynt drwy weithredu’r Strategaeth Ynni a chyflawni’r Cynllun Rheoli Carbon.

Bydd cyfrifoldebau’r swydd yn cynnwys y canlynol, ymhlith pethau eraill:

  • Hybu’r gwaith o weithredu polisïau ynni a strategaethau cysylltiedig ar draws y sefydliad
  • Datblygu atebion arloesol i leihau allyriadau o weithgareddau TrC
  • Dadansoddi ac adrodd ar ddefnydd TrC o gyfleustodau a monitro allyriadau carbon ac adrodd arnynt
  • Gweithio gyda thimau eraill i roi strategaeth ar waith i fesur a rheoli bywyd cyfan, carbon corfforedig a chyfalafol i sicrhau bod carbon yn cael ei leihau yn y cam dylunio a gweithredu i gefnogi targedau rheoli carbon y sefydliad.
  • Gweithredu strategaeth sy’n ceisio lleihau’r defnydd o ynni i sicrhau bod cynlluniau neu atebion ynni adnewyddadwy ac effeithlonrwydd ynni yn cael eu mabwysiadu ar draws y sefydliad.
