Energy Adviser

Job description

You will be joining us as an Energy Adviser to deliver an advice service for disabled households struggling with their energy and water bills funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme www.energyredress.org.uk and utility companies. The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering this service to customers.You will manage a personal caseload and provide practical advice that may be required for your diverse customer base.

If you do not already have the qualification, you will be trained to a Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness.You will then work with our content team and partners to create the scripts and content needed to support customers.

Fixed term for 12 months until end of March 2024.

The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday

Location - Scope's Leeds office with working from home some or most of the time

About you

You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to demonstrate experience in a customer facing role including experience of supporting customers remotely online and by telephone. You will have demonstrable experience of providing mentoring or similar support.

Showing empathy and being able to respond positively to change while being able to deal effectively with conflicting priorities will allow to succeed within this role.

It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products and are confident user of digital technology demonstrating a positive approach to the adoption of innovative products and tools.

It is desirable that you have a good knowledge of energy and water advice.

You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.
