Hours: 30 hours per week, temporary until 31st December 2023
RMBC are committed to improving the economic prospects for our tenants and residents. The RMBC Employment Solutions Team assist people to learn new skills, remove the barriers that are preventing them from working and support them to gain meaningful employment.
An opportunity is now available for a part time 30 hour per week position currently funded to 31st December 2023. The job involves helping people who are unemployed move into work or training and also progressing people who are employed to access support to increase their hours or their job prospects. The job will involve working in the new Employment Hub at Riverside House and some home working,
As a member of the Inspire Team the post holder will support the operational delivery of the project through the provision of information, advice and guidance that will support residents to move into training and employment.
The postholder will identify and assess the needs of individual customers and record results to provide a baseline from which progress and achievement can be measured.
They will prepare clear, concise, person-centred action plans which will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure both qualitative and quantitative data can be extracted.
They will ensure that all appropriate outcomes and outputs are achieved and documented in line with the targets and reporting requirements set by the project.
Have experience of working with unemployed customers.
Experience of working with people within a customer focused, service delivery organisation.
Have some experience of preparing individual Action Plans in the context of skills and employability.
Knowledge of issues relating to unemployment and the prevention of unemployment, local labour market trends and job search methods.
Experience of undertaking and utilising a range of assessment approaches and resources to identify an individual’s needs.
Experience of providing information and advice relating to education, training, employment, health, and welfare.
Have experience of the local labour market to inform planning of or referral to relevant interventions or activities which ensure customers progress into and sustain employment.
Experience of Partnership working and utilising networks to develop/improve services.
Experience of mentoring, motivating, training, and supporting individuals to move toward employment.
Using a range of computer applications and ICT including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet, and e-mail

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2024 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
