About us
UCL’s HR Division plays a key role in attracting and retaining the remarkable people that make UCL one of the world’s leading universities. We provide professional advice and services to managers and staff with the objective of maintaining a high quality, diverse, motivated and committed workforce.
The HR Employment Policy Team sits within the HR Division and consists of the Head of Employment Policy, 2 Employment Policy Managers, the Employment Policy Advisor and the Employment Policy Administrator.
About the role
The role of the Employment Policy Advisor is to support the team in undertaking policy research, benchmarking, writing and reviewing policies, consulting the trade unions and other stakeholders; undertaking projects; to advise managers and staff on policy, procedures and best practice; to lead on responses to Freedom of Information requests and Subject Access Requests.
The role is both varied and busy and provides an excellent and rewarding opportunity to work in the central HR Division, and to work with other HR functions. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive and interesting environment.
We are operating hybrid working and you will have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 60% a week if you wish.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and best practice. You will be well educated and ideally have CIPD membership or have equivalent experience. You will have excellent writing skills and will be experienced in delivering to deadlines and leading projects.
You will have a high level of numeracy to produce and analyse statistical reports and have an understanding of GDPR.
You will be comfortable in liaising with multiple stakeholders including up to Director level and have clear and engaging presentation skills.
