Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East is looking for Employer School Coordinators to join our friendly team, with roles based in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.
Positions are term-time, with the potential for full or part-time hours and an anticipated start date towards the end of August 2023.

Job Title - Employer School Coordinator
Reporting to - DYW Project Officer
Reporting to you - N/A
Location - Hybrid working – school/home
Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East is looking for driven, enthusiastic and and motivated professionals to join our team. DYW plays a key part in the delivery of the Young Person’s Guarantee. This role provides an opportunity to use your skills to implement a programme of employer engagement aimed at increasing pupils’ career awareness and skills development to ensure they can move into a sustained positive destination. Your role will deliver on Scottish Government’s DYW KPIs, which are issued annually. Working as part of a team, you will provide support to secondary schools to complement their DYW Agenda by engaging employers to deliver activities defined by the schools you support.
Employer School Coordinator Responsibilities:
· School - facilitate and support employer engagement in support of the delivery of the school DYW and improvement plans. Complete school pie charts identifying employer relationships.
· Create employer plan – working with partners to feed into the strategic plan.
· Employers – build strong and lasting relationships with employers who can deliver meaningful interactions to schools. Ensure regional sectors are represented by developing partnerships with employers locally and in our region.
· Pupil focused delivery – working with key partners, deliver employer engagement to those who would benefit the most as guided by the school.
· Partnership and networks – proactively collaborate with key partners/teaching staff to share opportunities for young people.
· Work Experience and Foundation Apprenticeships – refer employers who can offer placement opportunities to the local authority teams.
· Young Person’s Guarantee – promote the Young Person’s Guarantee and support employers to join, detailing their offer across the five asks of the Guarantee.
The right candidate will:
· Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivery to a variety of audiences
· Be driven, enthusiastic and a motivated team player
· Be experienced in managing and prioritizing their own workload
· Be passionate about inspiring the next generation
· Demonstrate ability to create long term, sustainable employer partnerships
· Have excellent MS Office skills
· Hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle to travel locally.
