With You are excited to be recruiting for an experienced HR professional to join them in the role of Employee Relations Manager, to shape, drive and lead our people and culture change agenda.

This is a new role for With You - the Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for leading our ER provision, proactively working with our Managers and Seniors and responsible for managing ER activity across our organisation, supporting complex and high-risk ER cases and coaching management through people processes and policy. You will have experience of coaching and developing a team of ER advisers in a fast paced, commercial environment whilst managing your own casework

We are looking for a subject matter expert on all things ER, including change - someone who will be the point of escalation for our complex cases and who is able to provide visible and trusted leadership throughout the ER process.

As Employee Relations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on complex ER cases - working closely with managers and engaging other key stakeholders where required, as well as overseeing the management of any early conciliation and employment tribunal claims
  • Upskilling our workforce - delivering tailored ER and change training
  • Maintaining and applying current knowledge of employment law, policies and practices - in order to manage ER cases from advice, investigation, support at meetings and documentation, through to providing commercial recommendations and solutions, whilst balancing risk to the business.
  • Working in partnership with our subject matter experts - this will include Recruitment; Reward; Communications Learning and Development, establishing good working relationships and collaborating on organisational projects
  • Maintain and monitor the ER case tracker - ensuring that ER cases are dealt with in a timely manner and highlighting any significant risks to the Head of People
  • Support in the production of ER data and analytics - sharing this with your stakeholders, identifying strategic and commercial trends which influence future activity and making recommendations to the Head of People, using opportunities to build knowledge, awareness and skills amongst managers and leaders to address issues at the root causes where possible
  • Line management of our regional People Advisors - establishing collaborative working practices, monitoring performance and coaching and upskilling them to manage their caseloads
  • Responsibility for managing responses to ACAS Early Conciliation matters and Employment Tribunals - coordinating and collating materials and liaising with legal and other business areas as necessary
  • Support the Head of People by pro-actively contributing to HR projects - this may include the development and communication of new programs or initiatives that impact ER matters

This is a truly hands-on role that will enable you to make a tangible difference to our leadership capabilities, improving performance and productivity and fostering better people management practices.

Please note that this is a home-based role, with some travel required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

If you have…

  • Chartered membership of the CIPD or significant demonstrable experience
  • Experience of working in an employee relations, case management and policy focused role, including strong knowledge of employment law and practical interpretation and application of providing commercial solutions
  • Experience of portraying complex issues and problem-solving initiatives in a 'user friendly' format, together with supporting processes and procedures
  • Experience of conducting complete reviews of policies, practices and terms and conditions, as well as effective problem solving skills and successful implementation and smooth running of solutions
  • Strong leaderships skills and experience managing a small team
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, as a commercial, credible and assertive subject matter expert, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience of training, coaching and developing HR and business stakeholders on ER matters, to share your knowledge and increase their capability
  • The drive and passion to create positive business outcomes
  • An approachable and resilient approach, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
