This is a varied and enjoyable role, where you will be providing initial advice and support to both clinical and non-clinical areas within the Trust.

The role will involve advising staff and managers on terms, conditions and policies as well as providing admin support to the Employee Relations Team on a range of casework including absence, probationary and conduct.

We are continuing to improve our service and you will be involved in supporting the Employee Relations function of the Employee Helpdesk where you take phone calls and answer queries via the ticketing system.

The successful candidate will have general admin experience, including experience of working in a high volume environment and relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent.

The role can be based at either Colchester or Ipswich sites, you will be required to work across both sites as and when required.

  • You will provide a proactive and responsive first point of contact to staff contacting the ER Service Desk.
  • Work from the Trust’s policies and procedures, provide basic advice and guidance to employees and managers to resolve day to day queries.
  • Support the team with comprehensive administrative tasks and the management of projects, gathering information and undertaking enquiries as and when necessary.
  • You will facilitate the smooth running of the service under the direction and supervision of senior colleagues.
  • You will act as an ambassador for Department and for the Trust, as the first point of contact to the Department.
  • Contribute effectively to ensure KPIs are achieved.

  • To provide a proactive and responsive first point of contact to staff contacting the ER Service Desk.
  • To contribute to the achievement of the HR Team’s KPIs and Trust targets around the workforce agenda.
  • To handle high volume inbound calls.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and updating of HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation.
  • To work with the Head of Employee Relations to support national initiatives and related matters.
  • Provide a customer focussed, timely and efficient service to all client groups.
  • Build, develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with staff and managers throughout the Trust.
  • Provide routine advice, guidance and support to staff and managers regarding their understanding and interpretation of HR policies and practices.
  • Escalate complex HR cases/issues to senior members of the Team.
  • Assist with the development and administration of the exception reporting
process/systems.
  • Administer, maintain and update relevant systems and databases e.g. ESR, service desk database systems.
  • Provide secretarial support to relevant meetings.
