As a Barclays Employee Communications, you will be a member of the Barclays integrated global employee communications team, and will take on the responsibility for delivering best-practice employee communication support to one or more business areas or functions. What will you be doing?
• Supporting effective relationships with the relevant leader and their leadership team
  • Understanding the business strategy and priorities
  • Using understanding of the business strategy and priorities to build a compelling narrative – articulating the priorities and the value for customers, clients and colleagues
  • Helping the end-to-end delivery of timely, targeted, creative and effective communications plans that clearly articulate the objectives of the business
  • Assisting with the design and implementation of a leadership communications plan which includes engagement with the relevant audience
  • Applying brand and communications guidelines to all communications
  • Measuring the effectiveness of communications using available channels and tools, and recommend subsequent improvements
  • Working closely with other colleagues across Employee Communications to help create a highly effective team and demonstrating ‘one team’ behaviours
What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience in communications, with a track record of delivering to the highest standards and with a excellent attention to detail
  • Employee communications experience with excellent writing skills, and ability to deliver complex messages in a clear and compelling way
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise on a daily basis, with attention to detail and excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work at pace, with tight deadlines, a solid focus on execution and ability to think creatively and solve problems


Skills that will help you in the role:
• An academic qualification in communication or related discipline and excellent written skills with the ability to write for a variety of audiences, channels and leadership styles
  • Good understanding of Barclays, our businesses and the industry in which we operate
  • Ability to challenge, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within the organisation
  • Understanding and managing relevant risk, governance, compliance and control issues

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
