The University has a simple aim - to transform lives, shaping futures for our students and the Sheffield City Region, creating knowledge which makes a real difference, and becoming a beacon for what a world-leading applied University can achieve. We have put in place many of the building blocks for exceptional success: a coherent institutional and employability strategy based on compelling ideas in clear language, a simple but flexible academic structure and a cogent, student focused professional services structure. We are passionate about the quality of the student experience, particularly in relation to preparing students for the world of work and their future graduate success.
You will be joining an ambitious and bold institution whose purpose is to enable students to collaborate, engage, challenge, and thrive throughout their course and beyond. You will be joining the Careers & Curriculum Integrated Employability Team within the wider Employability and Student Futures service. The service provides a multi-team, multi-functional approach across the full spectrum of employability including work experience, careers, enterprise, graduate and student futures and curriculum integration.
As an Employability Adviser you will work in partnership with academic teams, specifically module leaders, and academic Employability Leads to deliver at-elbow expertise, knowledge, and support to influence and advise on the integration of careers and employability across the curriculum. You will be recognised as the expert in this area with up-to-date knowledge of the graduate labour market, student employment and recruitment, various metrics used to measure success across the sector, i.e., GOS, APP, and deliver employability-based education in curriculum. You will also work as part of the Student Futures team to deliver and evaluate cross-institutional initiatives, campaigns, and events along with delivering tailored careers advice to students. We are currently providing both face-to-face and online virtual support to our students and graduates, therefore knowledge and experience of these modes of delivery will be required.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
As well as 25 days annual leave and 8 standard UK bank holidays, you also get up to 6 extra days each year for extended University closure around some UK public/holidays.
