Within its Early Careers talent segment, HSBC runs it’s flagship Global Graduate Programme recruiting up to 1500 students annually across 16 markets into Global Businesses and Digital Business Services areas. This role sits within the Group Emerging Talent team leading the design and deployment of our graduate and intern development strategy and curriculum. The role sits within a high-performing, fast-paced and collaborative team who work in partnership to support and deliver HSBC’s flagship programmes
The purpose of the Global Graduate Development Lead is to own the design and ensure delivery of the overall development strategy for the GGP. This includes bringing thought leadership and alignment to existing HSBC learning and talent solutions to ensure the on-programme experience for our emerging talent pipelines delivers the required skills and capabilities needed for the future. The role will ensure the effective design and deployment Global development interventions to support this including leading and coordinating the delivery of flagship GGP development events such as Global Graduate Induction and Global Graduation Event.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure the development strategy reflects a future focused, best in class learning and development experience for all graduate programmes, in all markets - maximizing inclusion, building a sense of graduate community, and removing barriers to progression. This must anticipate and cater for critical future skills needs and ensure relevance in a challenging external environment.
- Ensure a clearly defined graduate learning and development proposition is well communicated with clear accountabilities for group, line of business, local market, and others, driving alignment where appropriate and reducing duplication of cost and effort. This should be achieved through relevant engagement forums.
- Review and challenge existing practices in line with customer, market and competitor insights driving innovation particularly for deployment methods e.g., virtual / hybrid / face to face. This involved taking a critical data driven look at the effectiveness of existing initiatives to determine their fitness for continued use.
- Strengthen alignment to existing HSBC University curriculum, HSBC Learning & Talent solutions and emerging business needs particularly to enhance the on to off-programme transition to maximize return on investment. This includes developing a post-programme strategy.
- Ensure globally consistent, structured induction training aligned to the post offer onboarding experience (via onboarding platform) followed by continuous on programme learning and development. Specifically, this includes the design and delivery of Global Graduate Induction delivered annually as a pre-cursor to business and market specific training. Partner with Learning team and external production partners to deliver this flagship event.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Early Careers experience is essential
- Learning and Talent experience with a track record of working in partnership with and delivering through other HR colleagues
- Demonstrable track record in project management delivering programmes, events, and initiatives in a global matrix structure. This includes strong programme governance to manage and track progress and communicate progress, to lead the delivery of multi-functional teams and to ensure formal project closure best practice. Is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to produce high quality and professional presentations and documents to engage with stakeholders. This includes HR EXCO and other senior stakeholders where required.
- An understanding of the emerging talent sector and the importance of soliciting and subsequently building solutions which encompass customer voice is essential
This is a hybrid role but we connect regularly in person at 8 Canada Square, London
