Within CO+I, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for supporting delivery of data center capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year data center construction and lease projects with specific safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.
To help us accelerate achieving our objectives, growth, and transformation, we are looking for a Regional Portfolio Central Cost Manager to manage the portfolio cost management reporting out to leadership, providing a deep level of real-time business information to support data driven decision making.

Responsibilities
- Work alongside the EMEA Regional Cost Management Lead to manage regional support in the global reporting rhythm of business for the EPC cost and estimating group.
- In collaboration with Sub-Regional Cost Management leads manage the monthly project cost health reporting provided to all levels of the Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) organization from project level to group lead identifying early warnings of any projects that are trending over budget together with mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Manage the cost management artifacts within the global project funding requests, ensuring that consistent, accurate and timely cost information is included in all funding requests.
- Lead the provision of cost management and estimating resources as necessary to support the funding requests through multiple stages of approval.
- Take ownership of maintaining regional project benchmarking statistics including supporting the development of automated processes.
- Support the development processes, tools, trainings and resources needed to support the cost and estimating teams as to provide the reporting necessary in support of the global EPC and Cloud Operations & Innovation organizations. Additionally carry out the above reporting and funding requests.
- Support the development of an Earned Value Management (EVM) system for the portfolio that integrates the cost and schedule reporting to provide progress measurement information that is right sized for an owner’s organization.
- Manage the compliance and internal audit touchpoints for the cost management and estimating teams.
- Risk Management Support and Collaboration allowing for risk informed decision making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction project management or related field AND related experience.
- OR equivalent experience.
Background Check Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project controls in construction
- Leadership experience in Construction Cost Management or Project Controls
- Construction Commercial Management degree, a Quantity Surveying degree or Construction degree
- Prior commercial knowledge of construction cost management
- Experience on location in the construction industry
- Focus on collaboration, be able to think strategically to build the trust of our construction partners.
