WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for an individual with a customer first mindset who is easy to do business with and makes people feel special, driven to deliver experiences that are personalised, transparent and dependable

Working in the Lighting Software Squad the role will focus on all aspects of the design, delivery, integration and verification of lighting devices as well as contributing to the JLR Lighting body of knowledge. In addition the role will require providing support stakeholders internally and externally.

Working within the Agile framework and reporting to a Technical Specialist, the role requires the individual to deliver the agreed minimum business increments (MBIs) and stories as agreed together in each 2-week sprint, each quarter and annually.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Responsible for the software within all exterior lighting devices
• Responsible for testing, diagnostics and resolution of issues
• Enable the north star vision for the Lighting team
• Ensure that Tier 1 suppliers provide the best possible products and services
• Provide input into new feature and technology development
• Provide input into new requirements, standards, tools, processes and methods
• Undertake any other work as directed in connection with the role
• Support Lead Engineers with rectification of issues

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

ESSENTIAL

• Experience of automotive software design, development, testing and diagnostics
• Experience with electronics such as microcontrollers and LED drivers
• Experienced with the System V model and Agile approach to development
• Ability to architect embedded software for exterior lighting
• Ability to rapidly prototype embedded software for development
• Experience with all types of software testing and validation
• Strong IT skills with significant experience of using virtual engineering tools
• Good stakeholder management and problem solving skills

DESIRABLE

• Previous Lighting software development experience at an OEM or Tier 1
• Strong knowledge and experience of electronics development
• Knowledge of ARM Cortex M4, PIC18, ATMEL architectures
• Experience working in Agile product development methodology
• Good understanding of different communication protocols such as UART, LIN, CAN, SPI
