Job description
We are a private school looking for an enthusiastic and student-centered Grade 4/5 teacher to fill a full-time position, beginning September 1, 2023.
The candidate must live in Canada, hold a current Teaching Certificate from a province in Canada, and have experience teaching at the primary level.
Our ideal candidate will speak fluent English with reliable access to the school. They will need to be a creative facilitator, with elementary classroom teaching experience. We are a small school with low ratios to enable students to become self-directed learners who are able to advocate for themselves. Teachers guide students to achieve their personal goals. Any additional skills such as art, French, music, physical education, drama, computers, etc. would be an asset.
The candidate needs to be patient, friendly, outgoing, with good time management and organization. You must have experience and ability to work well with teens who have unique learning styles and/or challenges, including gifted learners.

Desired qualifications and experience include:
Hold, or be qualified for, a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
Experience with adapting, and modifying, curriculum to meet the needs of students.
Experience teaching elementary students.
Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques.
Experience teaching in a multiage group setting.
Job Type: September 1, 2023 - August 31, 2024 (contract is reviewed on a yearly basis)
