Part of this growth has lead to the creation of various new roles throughout the business, including this new position of a Test & Validation Electronics Engineer, joining the Research & Development department.
The R&D team is responsible for technology and new product development, whilst also sustaining and continuously improving the existing product portfolio.

We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money. Last year we diversified into the smart plug arena (providing our end-users with real-time data and autonomy of energy usage) and we have plans to roll-out our very own electric vehicle charger and all-in-one system over the next year. What you’ll be doing:
This role will report into our Head of Product Development, and will be responsible for developing and implementing manual and automated testes to validate hardware, firmware and systems.
No two days will look the same in this role, but generally, you can expect a mix of the below accountabilities:
- Design and execute test plans to validate new hardware.
- Functional, thermal, and compliance testing of products.
- Fully document test plans and reports.
- Ability to define problems, fault find down to component level, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make technical decisions
- Assess products for compliance to relevant legislation. E.g. UKCA and CE
- Assist in the testing of products at third party test houses.
- Participate in NPI product design to ensure that products are designed for manufacture.
- Design and produce test rigs to aid in product verification, validation, production test.
- Ensure good test coverage is achieved, with the aim of improving quality.
- Estimation of tasks.
- Communicate issues to relevant people

An understanding and competence in:
- A qualification in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Understanding of electronic schematics
- Experience in an R&D environment
- Experience in the control and use of Measurement Instruments – Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analysers, etc.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, expertise.
- Ability to communicate technical problems to Development Engineers.
- Ability to solder and prototype circuit boards.
Desirable:
- Experience of RF Design, Review and Test (RED).
- Experience of Embedded c programming.
- Experience of Software Engineering tools.
- Experience of Safety and EMC testing.
- Experience of Penetration testing.
- Navigating Linux operating systems.

Schedule: The core hours for this role will be Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, with some flexibility for out of hours cover
