Job Details
Electronics technician required to join a global specialist equipment manufacturing business that has seven sites across four continents. The company employs 600+ staff and has customers in 100+ countries and the South Wales site has been around for 40 years. You will earn a salary of up to £28,000 (dependent on experience) and have the opportunity to increase your earning potential through paid overtime when available and have the option to join the company BUPA scheme.
You will undertake a varied role where you will be involved in both assembly and test procedures inclusive of producing components and assemblies, soldering of components, crimping wires, PCB assembly, cable assembly, inspection of customer equipment for repair, etc.
The hours of work will be 7:45am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:45am-3:15pm on a Friday.
As the electronics technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing electronic parts and sub-assemblies
- Testing of sub-assemblies and parts using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-meters
- Final assembly of products
- Repairing electronic systems to the component level
- Use of drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, modify, rework, or reassemble products.
- Working with the production engineering and development teams to improve product and manufacturing methods.
- Work with the production team to achieve production targets and KPIs.
- Ensuring that the company quality and health & safety policies and procedures are applied and adhered to
To apply for the electronics technician position, you will need:
- Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- A recognised electronics or electrical qualification (ideally HNC or HND level) is desirable.
- Excellent soldering skills preferably with knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats
In return, the electronics technician will receive a salary of £26,000-£28,000 (dependent on experience) + pension (5% matched), the option to opt into the company BUPA scheme, etc.
