Electronics Engineer

Our products provide high quality solutions for multiple sectors in the lighting market and they are very highly regarded throughout the industry. To help further enhance our range of LED lighting products, we currently have a vacancy for an electronics engineer with 5 years’ experience in a design / production environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Schematic design and layout of PCBs
  • Collaborating with colleagues/other departments/suppliers on a variety of projects
  • Taking designs from prototype through to production
  • Designing and implementing improvements to legacy products
  • Fault finding & documentation of customer returns
  • Completing and maintaining technical files to a high standard
  • Creating & revising product test procedures, both software and hardware
  • Assisting with improvements in quality and reliability
  • Complying with company health and safety policy
  • Other duties as requested

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of LED lighting systems and their driving methods - constant current/voltage
  • Understanding of electronics principles and calculations – e.g. Ohm’s law, power dissipation
  • Fault finding on PCBs
  • Working knowledge of developing and modifying product hardware
  • Experience using hand tools for soldering PTH and SMD
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical/electronic drawings
  • Experience with CAD packages
  • Experience of working in an electronics production environment
  • Experience using a wide variety of power tools
  • Computer literate and experienced with a wide variety of software packages

  • Self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate at all levels - both written and oral
  • Ability to prioritise workloads

Qualifications:

  • HND / BEng Electronics Engineering
