With first-class hardware and software engineering, product design and integration teams, Paradigm manufactures superior, simple-to-use, PIM®-based satellite terminals for a global customer base.
We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our experienced and growing team. This diverse position involves designing low level electrical circuits with other members of the development team, creating layout of printed circuit boards, integration of microprocessors and implementing solutions into larger systems.
You would work closely with our software engineers and therefore knowledge of low-level programming languages would be beneficial. This role would suit either an experienced Electronics Engineer or a college or university leaver wishing to pursue a career within the Engineering and Telecommunications field. It is an exciting opportunity to learn more about the industry in an innovative environment, allowing for personal growth and progression within the company. This is a collaborative role, working as part of a team and therefore is office-based.
Required Skills:
- Electronic schematic design and PCB layout
- Hands on prototyping, breadboarding, soldering, cabling, etc.
- Electronics testing and fault finding (e.g., comfortable using oscilloscopes)
- Understanding / experience of low level communications protocols (e.g., i2c, SPI, UART, Ethernet, etc.)
- Good knowledge of electronic circuits, components and systems
- Ability to read and understand electronic schematics
- An understanding of Integrated Circuit (IC) components and logic
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
Desirable Skills:
- An understanding of both analogue and digital circuitry
- Ability to use and configure oscilloscopes and logic analysers
- Experience of low level communications protocols such as SPI and i2c
- Knowledge of PCB/Schematic design software such as Altium, Eagle or OrCAD
