Job description

Join a market leader, and global provider, of electronic pressure monitoring equipment; they offer excellent career prospects for an Electronics Design Engineer. You will help to design new products, while developing and maintaining existing product lines. Be hands-on throughout the product lifecycle, including: concept drawing; development; manufacture; delivery to the customer; post-sale technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new products; design modifications to improve current line
  • Design and test prototypes – analogue and digital electronics /
  • Generate new embedded software designs
  • Route and manage layout of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
  • EMC testing – using in-house equipment, and through liaison with EMC test house
  • Create and maintain technical files; assist with product compliance
  • Liaise with the assembly shop and suppliers to ‘design for manufacture’ o Work with production staff to modify designs, so product can be made.
  • Administration of PCB data in the CAD system; interface to the 3D CAD system
  • Liaise with Engineering Manager and Manufacturing team on-site
  • Provide technical support to other areas of the business

Suitable Experience:

  • 2 years of professional experience in electronics design (preferably)
  • University Degree, HND or similar in Electronics Engineering o We may consider an exemplary graduate with BEng (Hons) degree
  • Good experience/proficiency in electronics design – both analogue and digital
  • Understand how to integrate electronics into a product’s mechanical design.
  • Experienced with: embedded software design; PCB layout; embedded micro-controller, circuit design; development tools.
  • Fluent in C and C# programming languages
  • Proficient with software development tools, ala: Microchip MPLAB X IDE; Microsoft Visual Studio; Microchip PIC; other 3rd party software (compliers).
  • Understanding of electronic sensors, measurement systems and instrumentation
  • Good interpersonal skills; can work well with other designers and team members.
  • IT-literate, proficient in all standard Microsoft programs.
