What does taking part in the Collins Aerospace Degree Apprenticeship involve?
Electro-mechanical Engineers solve real-world problems using a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering expertise.
The Programme lasts five years and is designed to find and develop the company’s next generation of electro-mechanical engineers. Your tuition fees are sponsored by Collins Aerospace in addition to your salary.
In partnership with the University of Warwick, you will study towards a BENG in Electromechanical Engineering. This is a full Warwick degree, studied over five years through on-campus face-to-face teaching and virtual learning experiences, with teaching and assessment having blended and integrated work-based learning throughout. On campus teaching takes place during six, one-week blocks, delivered by Warwick academic staff with collaborative teaching support from Collins Aerospace.
We offer a unique programme, demonstrating a mix of electrical, mechanical and general engineering input, designed to meet the evolving skills needs in this sector. You’ll cover the foundations of engineering and electromechanical engineering in the first two years of the course. In the third and fourth years, you'll focus on systems design, including a group project design module, and in the final year you will be required to carry out an individual electromechanical engineering project within the organisation, to apply the knowledge and skills gained over the duration of the programme and create a real-life engineering solution.
Whilst studying you will also complete core rotations across the business to gain a well rounded experience.
Development and training to build your career
We recognise that your development is key for you to fulfil your potential in the world of work. That’s why we’ve created a programme that will support your learning to deliver real business value though it’s up to you to make the most of it.
You will undertake a development training programme during the five years. Designed to help you develop your personal leadership skills, you will learn to inspire and lead others by understanding yourself, how you relate to the people you work with and the leadership challenges you face.
By the end of the programme, having completed your rotations and functional training, you will have gained an effective understanding of the Collins Aerospace technical strategies and processes.
