Job description
Join our Revolution!
We offer a base salary of between £36,618 as well as a generous bonus scheme which can be taken in time off or as a cash payment plus fantastic benefits!
At British Gas, we can offer our customers many new innovative and energy saving electrical products and have recently partnered with a number of major motor manufacturers such as Ford and VW to provide customers with EV charging points in their homes. We also install other innovative Hive products to allow our customers to control their heating, lighting and home security etc, anytime, anywhere from their mobile, tablet or computers.
To meet the increased customer demand for these exciting new products, we require additional Qualified Electricians to install these products alongside all aspects of existing domestic electrical installation work we already offer to our customers.
As a British Gas Electrician, you will bring us your extensive experience in all aspects of domestic electrical work including fault finding, installation and rewires (this would typically be a minimum of 2 years’ experience). Your customer service skills and ability to solve problems will enable you to diagnose defects, work safely to ensure a first time fix for your customer, and promote British Gas products and services by giving professional advice.
We are looking for minimum qualifications of:
City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent), culminating in a Level 3 Technical Certificate including the National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate
evidence to show that you have been working in the electrical industry for a period of time
Up to date City & Guilds 2382 - B.S. 7671 IET Wiring regulations certificate
A City and Guilds 2391.52 (or equivalent) would be desirable
A full UK driving licence with 6 points or less
As you would expect from a company such as ours, we offer a very competitive salary of £36,618 for a 40-hour week, with an additional £3,828 to £5,328 for living or starting your day within London.
Overtime is available, should you want it, plus we offer a generous bonus scheme which can be taken in time off or as a cash payment – it’s up to you!
We also offer a host of benefits to suit your lifestyle and support your wellbeing. These include private health cover, 33 days paid holiday (Inc. bank holidays), enhanced sick pay and excellent company discounts. In addition, we offer a generous pension scheme.
It’s important that we do the right thing so we will carry out financial, criminal record and reference checks, as well as checking you hold the required qualifications for this role prior to you starting with us (please upload your certificates as part of your application).
