Coppice Alupack, part of the EP Group, is an international supplier of packaging to the food manufacturing processing and baking industries.
Working as part of the Engineering & Maintenance Team you will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of electrical equipment on site including the rectification of breakdowns, planned maintenance activities and installation of new plant and equipment.
Specific Role Responsibilities
As a Electrical Technician , you will:
- Fault find on electrical equipment and resolve faults in a timely manner (Including PLCs, Control Panels, Inverter Drives, fixed installation and ALL other devices associated within a production environment)
- Evaluate, design, plan and implement improvements to electrical equipment
- Assist in mechanical maintenance and general factory repair
- Liaise with internal and external personnel in order to purchase necessary parts and equipment to complete required activities
- Work from schedules and production plans as used by Engineering and other Departments, to ensure both maintenance and production targets are identified and achieved
- Comply with all Electrical legislation and document your actions accordingly
- Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements
- Complete Hazard Tags where required
- Support continuous improvement activities and initiatives
- Ensure housekeeping within work area is maintained at the highest level ensuring adherence to BRC accreditation and standards at all times
- Act as a valuable member of the Engineering Team, able to offer informative input to all Engineering / Production Improvement / Continuous Improvement and Cost Down Activities
- Carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business
Essential Knowledge & Qualifications:
· Fully Qualified Electrician
· Understanding of H&S requirements and key principles
· Knowledge of PLCs, Inverter Drives, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Safety Circuits, Factory Installations
· Understanding of power press and associated regulations
Experience:
· Able to read and interpret documents i.e. Safety Rules, Operating instructions
· Good communication skills
· Manufacturing environment background
Capabilities:
· Able to work as part of a team
· Flexible approach in order to meet business and departmental requirements
· Excellent time management skills
- Able to work on own initiative and manage own priorities and time constraints
Desirable Experience & Capabilities:
- Understanding of modern philosophies such as PPM. JIT, Lean
Salary up to £38,000.00 per year dependant on experience and shift pattern (Days / Rotating Days)
