We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly multidisciplinary referral hospital providing the highest standard of nursing care for patients in the Theatre and Surgery Ward area of the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. Working as part of a team of specialist clinicians, residents, interns, RVNs and patient care assistants, you will be involved in a range of interesting and challenging cases.
This role is ideal for a nurse with the passion and drive to develop their nursing career and specialise in all aspects of surgical nursing. Your duties will be split 60/40 between our theatre suites and surgery ward. Duties will include:
- Preparing patients and theatres for surgery
- Work closely with our specialist anaesthesia team and hospital coordinators to facilitate patients moving through the theatre suite
- Act as a circulating nurse, with the opportunity to scrub assist
- Provide excellent nursing care to our patients within the surgery ward (Orthopaedic, Soft tissue and Ophthalmology)
- Contributing to the training and development of students on rotations
Referral experience is advantageous but not necessary as full specialist training will be provided.
