Hardware Engineer
Crawley, Templecombe, or Cheadle – Hybrid Working

We are now expanding our Maritime Mission Systems team and are actively recruiting for a Hardware Engineer. The role will have key contribution in the Engineering Development Lifecycle for an array of critical mission systems such as Sonar, Antennas and RF units.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
To support the design, development, manufacture and test of electronics hardware and assemblies within MMS Hardware Engineering discipline as required. Hardware Engineers are involved throughout the product engineering lifecycle, from initial design concepts through to supporting production and in-service product support. Responsibilities include working on programmes to develop deliverable equipment such as sonar electronics and hardware, RF antennas, tuners and RF distribution units.
Key responsibilities
To support the design, development, qualification and production of MMS hardware.
Involvement in the full engineering (DDQS) lifecycle from design, development, supporting integration and qualification activites, production and delivery. Involvement in design for cost/manufacture activities and producing technical reports as required to support deliveries
Take responsibility for continuous personal development, with support from the Portfolio Hardware Engineering Manager, to build a fulfilling career development path within Hardware Engineering
Working collaboratively with Operations to support the production and test of deliverable hardware
Essential experience & skills required
Experience working with hardware/electrical equipment design, testing or production in an appropriate engineering, manufacturing or scientific field. For example electrical and electronic engineering, physics, manufacturing and manufacturing engineering, product/equipment testing, mechanical or electrical engineering
Knowledge of Electronics engineering and the design and development of electronic hardware
Ability to contribute to hardware design and development activities, interfacing with other team members as required.
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification such as an HND
Desirable
Experience working on RF electronics, analogue circuitry, RF antenna.
The design of equipment for the sub-sea environment.
