General Description

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team to support in designing test facilities and system integration.

The main role will be the design and/or support for the integration of electrical facilities installations and control system integrations.

Main Duties, Operational Tasks and Responsibilities

• Produce detailed calculations to assist in the rating of customer supplied transformer sub-stations, based upon operational diversity, and apparent short circuit power requirements.
• Produce Operational Diversity Spreadsheets to assist in the determination of customer sub-stations and networks.
• Produce “Single Line Power Distribution Diagrams”, for dialogue with customers and sub-contractors.
• Produce “Electrical Sub-Contract Specifications” for the electrical sub-contract on complex facility projects.
• Produce LV Switchboard and GP Distribution Board schedules.

Requirements of the Job

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Preferred).
• HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering if able to demonstrate 10+ years of building services design engineering.
• Knowledge of Low Voltage Directive – 2014/35/EU.
• Knowledge of The 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018).
• Knowledge of 690V/ 400V Topology.
• Working Knowledge of ePLAN P8 (Preferred but not essential).
• Understanding of LV Switchboard/Motor Control Centre (MCC) “Form Factors” and be able to determine the correct LV Switchboard/MCC for each application.
• Electrical Building Design Experience.

Other Requirements

• Right first time attitude.
• Logical approach to problem solving.
• Good communication skills to discuss engineering problems and solutions with customers and sub-contractors.
• Full UK Driving License

• Salary: Competitive – Dependent on experience.
• On the job training will be provided for the right candidate.
