As the next Z-Tech Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician, you’ll be working across a vast array of power generation plants across the UK. You will be responsible for the delivery of preventative maintenance of electrical, control and instrumentation systems, attending to any reactive/correct maintenance, fault finding, completing any repairs/replacements/calibrations to instruments, installation of new systems/equipment, commissioning, all in accordance with BS7671 18th Edition - whilst ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Works include turbine health checks during routine shutdowns for customers, this will involve measurement of thermocouples, injection/loop checks back to DCS systems, and verification of vibration instrumentation back to the monitoring equipment (e.g. Bently Nevada 3500 Rack). Other works will involve working on compressor systems and calibration of critical control systems such as lube oil systems, steam pressures, and level monitoring for equipment.
What do we need from you?
- Experience within heavy industry, preferably power generation.
- Sound experience with instrumentation such as temperatures, flow meters, pressure, levels, chemical analysis (pH , conductivity, dissolved Oxygen).
- Sound experience with process actuators and positioners both air and electric (Rotork, Drehmo, Auma).
- Sound experience with industrial DCS/SCADA systems such as Profibus PA and DP along with a strong ability to interpret, diagnose and rectify Logic in both Ladder and Function block formats.(ABB , Siemens , Allen Bradley)
- Sound experience with vibration systems (Bentley Nevada, Beran)
- To understand and comply with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Legislation.
- Valid UK driving license
COMPEX/ATEX - (EX01-EX04) advantageous but not essential
