Established in 1980, Kalestead Ltd are a UK specialist cable manufacturing company. We offer bespoke solutions to a variety of sectors including medical, automotive and military applications plus many others. Our customer base is worldwide and we provide a product range consisting of straight cable, coiled leads, moulded and terminated cables.
We now seek a Technical Sales Engineer to join our Sales office. Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be involved in overseeing the entire process from cable design through to order.
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has the capabilities to undertake the following responsibilities. However, as this is a niche market full training would be provided for the right person who has relevant skills.
· To assume responsibility for custom design of electrical cable for the definition of bespoke cable designs for power, signal and data transmission
· To be competent in the interpretation of customer requirements and generation of electrical schematics and cable design definitions on appropriate software. Knowledge of Corel Draw and Cimteq (or similar cable design software) desirable
· To liase with customers regarding their designs and specifications
· Assist the sales manager in handling general enquiries relating to costings, orders and progress enquiries
· Consult with toolmakers regarding new designs and on-going projects
· Gain knowledge of sourcing materials and components
· Keep up-to-date with industry regulations such as RoHS, REACH, Conflict materials
· To be able to support/liaise with Production resolving any issues or defects
· To conduct investigations into a range of cable problems and provide solutions
· Knowledge of several of the following; manufacturing processes would be beneficial - EMC protection, Mil-circular & rectangular connectors and EMC gaskets to BS & military specifications
· You will need to be conscientious and flexible in planning your own day to day activities.
This is a full time position. Depending on experience and training requirements it can be adapted to offer remote working or consultancy options, this would be discussed at the time of interview. Salary dependant on experience.

Salary: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
