Role of the Department
The Build and Test department supports MAHLE Powertrain by building, instrumenting, and testing prototype engines, batteries and motors helping lead the research and development into new cutting-edge green technologies, such as Hybridisation and Electrification.
Duties
As an apprentice training will be delivered in the department and via day release study at a suitable College. On the completion of the training, the individual will be trained to:
- Comply with Health and Safety requirements for low and high voltage systems
- Understand electrical principles, use these to design circuits and specify components
- Layout simple installations to legislative and best practice requirements
- Correctly use tools and techniques to wire circuits, build electrical assemblies
- Test circuits and equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose
- Fault find and maintain electrical systems in the department
Work towards an Electrical Engineering qualification at level 3 or level 4
Qualifications
- A minimum of BTEC Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline
- GCSE – Math’s, English and Science (A-C)

Salary: £9.00-£11.00 per hour
