About the opportunity:
Our team specialises in nationally significant projects across the UK and Europe, providing technical expertise in all areas of environmental assessment and consenting for clients such as the Environment Agency, National Grid, United Utilities, Southern Water, HS2, National Highways, Network Rail and many more.
We have excellent relationships and active frameworks and projects in the energy sector. To support our energy clients’ aspirations for growth, we have opportunities for individuals with relevant experience and capability in energy sector EIA, for example renewable energy generation or electricity transmission/distribution.
You will have a pivotal role in major project delivery, working closely with our clients and helping to lead our environmental assessment and consents workstreams. Your project experience will enable you to bring together a diverse team of environmental specialists, working as part of project teams to assess potential effects, embedding environment and sustainability in the design and delivery of our projects.
We support agile careers and have opportunities for you to work on our wider portfolio of projects including energy, water, transportation (highways and railways), nuclear, and flood and coastal risk.
We will also support your professional development in all stages of your career which includes training opportunities and paying for your membership of a professional body, such as the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). We will also provide mentors to assist your career progression with Jacobs and professional bodies, including chartership applications.
Here’s What You’ll Need:- Degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience in delivering EIAs and other types of assessments for a range of clients.
- Knowledge and understanding of consenting regimes, such as the Planning Act/Development Consent Orders (DCO), Transport & Works Act, and Town & Country Planning Act and relevant stakeholders.
- Hold or be working towards chartered status and full membership of a recognised relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA).
- Experience in client facing roles, and in working closely with client bodies and engaging in proactive consultation with key stakeholders such as Natural England.
- Team leadership experience with capability in engaging, motivating and influencing staff and clients.
