- Arla Westbury is the Home of Anchor butter
- We are the largest Butter factory in the UK
- We are the largest Dryer factory in the UK
- At peak times Westbury is consuming 5% of the UK’s milk- that’s the milk from every 1 cow in 20 from the whole of the UK
- Milk powder and butter from Westbury are exported all over the world- you will also eat Westbury Powder within several brand name confectionaries and desserts
What will the role look like?
Reporting to the QEHS Manager on site, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing EHS issues and activities at site level to ensure that legal and company EHS standards are met and providing input to the continuous improvement of EHS-related processes on site
- Coordinating EHS activities across departments.
- Assisting in the development of site specific policies and objectives.
- Supporting EHS management systems.
- Securing training of relevant staff in EHS such as manual handling, fire safety training and permit to work training
- Coordinating maintenance of site EHS improvement plans.
- Liaising with local authorities such as the Environment Agency
- Leading external audits.
- Collecting, monitoring evaluating and providing relevant reports to site and business group management as applicable.
- Ensuring continuous improvement on site
- Acting as gate keeper on new knowledge within EHS.
- Using data analysis to identify trends and monitor performance
- Initiating and implementing EHS campaigns
- Key ambassador and influencer of EHS for site.
- Represent site in UK and Global EHS forums with occasional travel to other sites in UK and Denmark.
Background/Experience
- Relevant qualifications such as the NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent) are essential
- Previous experience as a EHS professional within a relevant sector such as FMCG, manufacturing, chemical or water industry
- Experience working with waste plants and Environment Agency would be desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience delivering training on site would be preferred
- The ability to confidently present to large groups of people
- Previous experience of influence behaviours in the workplace
- Knowledge of COSHH, LOTO, Confined space and Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations
- Experience of building and maintaining an EHS documented system
- Previous experience working in FMCG would be desirable.
