Office of the Vice-Chancellor
We are seeking applications from an enthusiastic and committed professional to help shape and deliver our commitment to deliver an inclusive University climate for all.
You will be a specialist adviser/practitioner with in-depth knowledge and understanding of issues of bullying and harassment in higher education for all protected characteristic groups, including statutory and regulatory responsibilities. You will also have experience in developing a Report and Support system or process, have a track record of challenging discrimination and oppression and of supporting staff and students in this context. Candidates must have strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and students and campaign for the elimination of all forms of bullying, harassment, and abuse.
Report and Support is the University's agreed platform for students and staff to raise concerns about wellbeing risks as part of its overall approach to dignity and respect, including issues in relation to bullying, harassment, sexual and domestic abuse, and hate crime. The Dignity and Support Manager will be required to triage and respond to reports submitted through the Report and Support system and ensure appropriate action. The role holder will also be responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of monitoring data, making recommendations for service improvements for effective delivery as required. As part of this work the Manager will be instrumental in working to develop our EDI data dashboard.
The post will be based in the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity and report to the Associate Director EDI and is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive EDI team and contribute to the delivery of the University's vision of a world of inclusion and equality of opportunity, where people who want to, and can, make a difference.
Given the nature of Report and Support work, occasionally the role holder will be required to work outside of normal hours. On these occasions, time off will be given in lieu.
