Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to generate and progress CAD maturity, manipulating supplier CAD data for Electrical Engineering components and systems in the support of future Aston Martin products.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interface with Programme, Package, Commodity Teams and Design to identify and deliver task
- Tracking and reporting CAD data maturity
- Designing of EE components in NX in liaison with component/commodity engineers.
- Generate and maintain CAD generation and quality standards
- Management of CAD data using Team Centre Engineering.
- Release of 3D and 2D detail designs/drawings, including maintenance of Team Centre Digital bucks, to AML standard.
- Manage component engineers and suppliers to establish all necessary information in support of design activities.
- Support virtual series activities (CAD generation, assembly building and buck population)
- Lead package studies and reviews with all necessary information in consideration of all affected areas.
- Support engineers with information for part procurement activities.
- Lead design reviews & package meetings where required.
- Support / assist engineers in the resolution of engineering concerns including ensuring CAD information is available and transferred to the supplier in a timely manner.
- Advising relevant engineer or programme manager if data is likely to be late.
- Data transfer via web-based portals or high-speed data links.
Qualification & Experience:
- Good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and component design.
- An understanding and experience of 3D and 2D (drafting) CAD.
- Good knowledge and experience of NX and Team Centre.
- Management and distribution of tasks with prioritisation
- A flexible attitude to the range of systems is required and the ability to support multiple programmes with demanding time constraints.
- Good knowledge of 2D drawing standards (GD&T) is required.
- Knowledge of product development cycle from concept to launch completion
- Knowledge of automotive development systems e.g. releasing, concerns, containments, gateways and sign off documentation.
- Experience of automotive pre-production build environments
- Experience of working in a cross functional team to tackle complex issue resolution
- Leading a team and allocating tasks
- Appropriate engineering degree
