Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of our experienced, supportive and energetic Educational Development team, adopting a lead role in facilitating aspects of Lancaster’s Advance HE accredited educational development provision and related activities.
In the role of Educational Developer you will provide expertise, leadership and high-quality professional development to staff across Lancaster’s global community of educators. You will have an important role in delivering our educational development offer, working closely with the wider team to devise and implement a range of impactful professional development interventions that will support our embedding of the PSF 2023. This includes coordination of ATLAS, Lancaster’s experience-based Advance HE accredited recognition programme.
As well as providing leadership and coordination around accreditation, you will draw on your repertoire of organisational and teaching development approaches for a range of assignments to nurture our institutional culture of professional development, and develop approaches for the cultivation and recognition of educational excellence.
Drawing on your knowledge of educational practice and contemporary debates in higher education you will make key contributions to the design and implementation of guidance, workshops and curriculum development consultancy. You will be able to demonstrate effectiveness in developing university staff and programme teams, and the ability to build rapport with the wider education community, create and leverage networks, and foster dialogue with colleagues at different levels of the organisation.
This role is likely to be of interest to people with a passion for educational excellence, who enjoy working with colleagues from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds, and who will thrive in a dynamic and collegial university. We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic people for this role in order to increase our staff diversity in this part of the University.
This is a full-time, indefinite post. For informal enquiries about the role please contact Simon Allan ([email protected]) Head of Educational Development.
