Education Programme Coordinator London, England

Tutors Green
Full Time London, England 28000 - 35000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Our Company

Tutors Green is one of the UK’s leading tuition providers - we’re a purpose led company on a mission to make first-class tuition accessible to more students.

Improving the academic outcomes of disadvantaged pupils is at the core of our practice. We have over 7 years’ experience working closely with schools and Local Authorities to deliver highly tailored tuition programmes that help pupils build confidence and achieve their target grades.

We have partnerships with over one hundred schools, several local authorities and we’re a Tuition Partner of the National Tutoring Programme, a programme set up by the Department for Education to make high-quality tutoring available to schools - to help those whose education has been most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

It’s been an exciting year at Tutors Green, we’ve experienced rapid growth in demand for our services, our internal team has doubled in size and we’re working with more students, schools, Local Authorities and charities than ever before.

To maintain the quality of service as we scale up our tuition services nationally, we’re continuing to grow our internal team.

Tutors Green is committed to the safeguarding of children and young people.

About the Role

The role is in our Tuition Programme Management Department - you’ll be joining a passionate and supportive team in an exciting growth-stage of the company. The number of tuition programmes has doubled year-on-year; and there’s a growing need with setting up, managing and monitoring the impact of our tuition programmes.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with families, schools, Local Authorities and charities throughout the academic year. You’ll be working in the Tuition Programmes team, focussing your time on the management of our SEND home tuition programmes. These tuition programmes can be complex due to the needs of the students, and are typically delivered daily. We are restructuring the Tuition Programmes team so that the Education Programmes Co-ordinator can focus the majority of their time managing this specialised work, as well as supporting the wider team with the roles they are overseeing.

What to expect:

  • Setting up new tuition programmes from the point of referral.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day delivery of allocated tuition programmes.
  • Understanding the specific needs of the students we are referred, by reading professional reports, Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs), and speaking to their parents/carers.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and EHC plan co-ordinators to develop and implement individualised tuition programmes which are tailored to the unique needs and goals of each student.
  • Attending regular stakeholder meetings to report on student progress, including Annual Reviews.
  • Establish effective channels of communication with students and their parents/carers to address inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.
  • Responding to referrals and being a point of contact for new tuition enquiries.
  • Sending lesson/progress reports and gathering feedback from lessons.
  • Supporting tutors with their programme delivery and problem-solving throughout the day.
  • Matching tutors to tuition programmes based on the needs of the student.
  • Referring safeguarding matters to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Liaising with the Tutors Green recruitment team and using a tracker to monitor when roles can start.
  • Monitoring progress and impact of programmes.
  • Conducting interviews for prospective tutors.
  • Liaising with external partners and stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities.
  • Regularly sharing updates with the rest of the Education Programmes Team via Slack and keeping internal records up to date.
  • Creating detailed Risk Assessments for tuition programmes before they start.

What we’re looking for (essential qualities):

  • A strong communicator who is empathetic and patient.
  • A good problem solver who can think on their feet.
