Job Details

The Money Charity is the UK’s Financial Capability charity. We empower people to build the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours to make the most of their money throughout their lives; helping them achieve their goals and live a happier, more positive life as a result.

81% of young people feel anxious about money and finance, an increase of 14% on last year (LIBF, 2021-22)[1]and only 44% of those aged 11-17 feel confident managing their money (MaPS, 2019)[2]. With the current cost of living crisis, young people are in need of understanding their money now more than ever. Would you like to help us empower young people to make the most of their money and use it to help them get what they want out of life?

Each year, we reach around 20,000 young people through the delivery of our Financial Education Money Workshops in schools and colleges across the UK, and in 2023, we hope to dramatically increase this. The Workshops are interactive, engaging and relevant, covering topics including budgeting, saving, borrowing, insurance, uni money and much more. Young people love having the chance to talk about money, ask questions and think about what they are going to do with theirs!

We are looking to recruit a member of staff to help carry out the day-to-day management of the Workshops, as well as deliver our Workshops to young people in schools, colleges and the community. The applicant will play a pivotal role in ensuring The Money Charity’s Financial Education work is carried out efficiently to the best standards and the role will provide a varied and interesting opportunity for development.

They should have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in developing relationships with a range of stakeholders. They should have enthusiasm for helping young people meet their potential as well as the charity’s aims and objectives. The applicant must be able to work under pressure, deliver tasks to an agreed timescale and have the ability to manage their own workload, as well as working as part of a team.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity for the applicant to manage the delivery of Workshops with a wide and national reach, whilst having the opportunity to input in developing this area of the charity’s work.
