The postholder will work as an autonomous responsible practitioner as their training affords and within
the scope of their local job description, to engage in;
- Delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in an education setting with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services
- Supporting/facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing
- Working with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental

BuckinghamshireMental Health Support Team is looking to recruit two Education Mental Health Practitioners to join their team.
Buckinghamshire MHST was one of the national trailblazer sites for this Department of Health and Department of Education project. We have now expanded our reach in Buckinghamshire with 5 teams working with primary, secondary schools and some further education settings.
The successful candidates will join a team of EMHP and trainee EMHP Workers to support schools across the locality. The team is led by an Operational Lead and Operational Deputy, with supervision from EMHP Supervisors.
The roles are full time but part time applications will be considered.
We are looking for a self-motivated team player with excellent time management skills.
Some of the main duties include:
- Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, working at all times in collaboration with and giving respect to the education function of the setting in which the post-holder is deployed.
- Work in partnership to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers, families and educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties.

As the role involves moving between school settings, you need to be able to travel to different locations across the geographical area you are linked to (either High Wycombe, Aylesbury or Chesham/Amersham)
