We are looking to recruit three Education Liaison Officers. Although the roles will be based at the University, you will be working remotely, covering either South London or East London or South East England (West & East Sussex, Kent. Surrey & Hants). Applicants living in these areas would be preferred, to minimise any travel costs associated with visiting external stakeholders in that area. You will spend the majority of your time visiting schools and colleges, with time spent on campus for school/college visits and recruitment events.
Main duties and responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Education and UK Student Recruitment Team. Reporting to one of our Senior Education Liaison Officers, you will be responsible for independently planning and delivering UK student recruitment activities with a view to raising the profile of the University of Hertfordshire to attract and encourage applications to the University. The successful candidate will be working with academics and colleagues across Marketing and Communications to develop and implement activities and events that will engage prospective students, parents, school and college staff.
You will be required to work flexibly, in person and virtually, to deliver workshops, presentations and represent the University at Higher Education Fairs and Exhibitions and other recruitment events. Some events will be in the evenings and weekends, with exhibitions taking place across the UK. You will also be responsible for data gathering, reporting on activities and competitor research with a view to improving and maintaining the University’s position.
Skills and experience required
You must have excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to establish effective relationships with schools, colleges, colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders, as well as being a good team player. You will also need to have strong organisational skills, feel comfortable with travelling to and from events and remote working. A good knowledge of the UK education sector is needed and having prior educational advisory/student recruitment experience would be advantageous.
Qualifications required
The successful candidates will have a minimum of degree or equivalent level 6 qualification or proven professional experience.
Disclosure and Barring Service
Our commitment to the University’s Safeguarding Policy requires that the recruitment of staff in this area, will require the minimum of a Basic DBS Check. In the course of our work and University-led activities, there may be external contractual obligations where a further Enhanced Check is required. DBS checks may require renewal in line with policy.
Overseas applicants and UK applicants who have lived abroad
Successful applicants who have lived outside the UK, for 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total), in the last 10 years, will be required to produce a ‘Certificate of Good Character/Conduct’ from each of those countries.
