Education Lead Workforce Development Band 7
Location: Comely Bank Centre
Salary: Band 7
Employment type: Permanent
Job type: Organisational Development and Learning
Hours of work: 37.5
Department: Organisational Development and Learning (HR&OD)
Employer (NHS Board): NHS Lothian
We are delighted to welcome a new Education Lead into our Workforce Development Team. This post has become vacant due to an internal move.
We are looking for a compassionate and creative leader to support the development and delivery of a wide range of education, training, employment and career opportunities. A key aim is to ensure inclusive approaches that widen access for people in our communities, who face significant barriers and inequalities.
As well as attracting new people into NHS Lothian, we want those already working with us to stay, and be able to access opportunities that support them towards their career goals and ambitions, whatever those are.
You will manage a wide portfolio of workforce development programmes, including apprenticeships, employability and work experience. You will work in collaboration with a range of partners across our organisation, and externally, such as third sector, schools and colleges and local authorities.
You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of colleagues, who have diverse roles and responsibilities within the service. You will facilitate the efficient and effective running of these services, ensuring progression of related operational and strategic work streams.
You will be joining us at an exciting time. As we continue to recover from the impact of the covid pandemic, the need to respond, flex and adapt to changing workforce needs, brings opportunities for innovation around new ideas and ways of working.
You will be well supported, with space to be creative and plenty of opportunity to influence and develop a high-quality experience for all staff.
We support hybrid working but due to the nature of the service, you do need to be flexible and expect to travel across the Lothians.
