The City of York SEND Team are looking for a Case Worker for children, young people and their families, working closely with relevant professionals through statutory SEND processes.
The Case Worker role focuses on person-centred planning, co-production and outcomes to generate outstanding and effective Education Health and Care Plans to support children and young people with their education and preparing for adulthood.
This is a diverse and engaging role, carrying significant responsibility for progressing individual cases in collaboration with education colleagues and other agencies.
Successful applicants will have experience of working with families, children and young people in a professional capacity and will need to evidence that they have worked as an effective team member, and have the skills to empathise, mediate and support families with complex processes, including giving difficult messages. You will need to be able to interpret professional advice and complete the written documentation to a high standard.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
