N573 - Education, Health and Care Plan Officer - Role Profile

Plymouth City Council are seeking to employ a suitably experienced EHCP Officer within our 0-25 Statutory Assessment Team. The successful applicant will be part of a team that ensure that Plymouth fulfils its statutory duties for the education of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Key activities for this role include:

Responsible for writing EHC plans based on an analysis of statutory assessment advice, including school, medical, educational psychology and parental information

Responsible for other aspect of the SEN Code of Practice including liaison with parents/carers, professionals in education and other agencies

Ensure that pupils with EHCPs are appropriate placed within mainstream, special schools, EOTAS, home education or independent sector provisions

. Ensure that the statutory review and monitoring of placements are in accordance with the Education Act (1996

You will need to evidence professional experience working with special educational needs and/or disability. You will need to evidence a knowledge of statutory processes for education, health and care planning.
