Who are we looking for?
TCHC is looking for passionate, organised, and focused individual to manage their education and training Centre in the Ipswich town Centre. The Centre Manager will be an integral role in our Centre by ensuring they act as a conduit ensuring the successful implementation of the TCHC vision resulting in a sustainable training Centre supporting young people who require the skills to move on with their lives.
Able to build and promote the Centre's importance to the local area and its communities with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities that support business growth. Lead a team through good organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills while enthusing others along the way.
The Ipswich centre is located centrally and is a clam, welcoming and friendly environment where young people receive education and training. The centre has recently opened a new building to ensure we can continue to offer further programmes over the coming years. A good team is in place who now require a manager to lead the way and support them with making a difference to young people lives.

Job Title: Centre Manager (Further Education)
Location: Ipswich
Working Hours: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm 1-hour lunch
Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
Salary Band: 32 – 34K
What are we looking for?
A person to come in a manage the centre in Ipswich to be a hub for young people to receive education and training. Someone who can lead an already great team to further develop, through creating new opportunities for young people. You would be confident in your abilities to manage a team and centre, positive in all you do and able to network with partners to create further opportunities. Are you someone who likes to work as a team?
Qualifications/skills
· A Leadership and management qualification at level 3 or above
· Qualified to PTLLS/ CTLLS (or equivalent)
· GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade4/ C or above
· Good IT skills
· Confident with networking and building partnerships
· Able to build good rapport with young people and teams
· Motivated and positive in all you do
· Organised and able to organise daily activities
· Efficient at meeting deadlines and confident with administration tasks
· Able to lead your team and use your initiative
· A problem solver who is collaborative
Not essential, but desirable:
Knowledge and experience of working with young people
Managed teams in a education environment
Knowledge of the 16-19 study programme or other youth programmes
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Key Objectives would be to:
· To provide day-to-day management of the education and training Centre supporting and implementing the TCHC Curriculum
· To provide strong leadership to secure the operational success of the Centre through effective staff & learner management
· To build and extend effective local relationships that support the growth of the Centre
· Engage with young people to enable them to progress within the centre
· To support the Director of Youth Programmes to successfully implement contracts, ensuring relevant funding and key performance indicators are met
· To work with different referral agencies, local authorities, and teams eg- LAC, YOT…
Strategic
- To develop and successfully maintain all programs across the Centre and ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day management of the Centre in line with the strategic approach
- To meet individual and team KPIs and targets as set out by TCHC
- To raise the profile of TCHC across the local area and further, by engaging with all external agencies including local authorities, young people, parents, and the broader community to motivate learning and high-quality outcomes
- Identify future business opportunities and make a positive contribution to their development
- To be part of the OFSTED working group, designing and implementing policies and procedures across TCHC to meet OFSTED requirements
- Work with the Marketing team to ensure that the Centre's services are effectively promoted, and delivered and case studies developed to support future work.
- To ensure the SEND Code of Conduct is being followed and adhered to.
- To ensure staff is fully equipped and trained to manage learner behavior.
- Work with colleagues in the wider organisation to develop initiatives
- Effectively adhere to and implement areas of the education inspection framework within the Centre procedures and approaches.
Management
- To ensure appropriate protocols and procedures are in place and being applied to meet OFSTED requirements
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment for all young people and staff
- To ensure the SEND Code of Conduct is being followed and adhered to.
- Conduct EHCP reviews ensuring you follow the local authority process and the learners' needs are prepared/planned for.
- Performance management
- Learner management
- To manage, motivate and support TCHC Staff, Associates, and Agency Staff to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to all learners which meets the individual needs of each learner
- Ensure a very high level of retention and achievement is maintained and delivered
- Lead and motivate staff to be a high-performing team and ensure that individual and team targets are consistently met and maintained
- Ensure effective reports are produced and presented for the benefit of colleagues, funding bodies, and other strategic partners regularly, as agreed by Directors
- Responsible for ensuring quality and service processes and administration are in place for efficiency
- Ensure that all activity is carried out in a professional and timely manner, to consistently high quality and that any problems and issues are dealt with to the satisfaction of the learner and reported to the Programme Director in line with the policies.
- Manage petty cash for the centre through completing records of expenditure
· Be responsible for promoting and Safeguarding (including Prevent) the welfare of all learners for whom you have responsibility or with whom you come into contact and adhere to TCHC's Safeguarding and Prevent policies.
Operational
- To liaise with stakeholders, referral agencies, parents/carers, and professional workers to ensure regular attendance and sustained learner participation
- Ensure all course resources are in place such as; Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, Assessments, Learning Resources
- Lead and organise team meetings to ensure current and future actions are completed
- Manage staff to ensure regular reviews are held with the learners and recorded on the ILP
- To ensure that learner bursaries are applied for and administered efficiently including daily travel payments
- Manage and review centre timetabling and staff allocations
- To ensure that eligible learners are regularly receiving free meals in line with the Government legislation applicable at the time
- Liaise and develop work with schools, to provide access to Employability Skills
- Provide support to all staff where required
Monitoring and Continual Improvement
· Undertake regular CPD and record it using company documents.
· Undertake qualifications were suitable as part of your learning and development.
· Take proactive approaches to ensure Safeguarding and Prevent are embedded into the delivery and ensure issues are raised accordingly, in line with TCHC's Safeguarding Policy using the appropriate recording and reporting tools.
· Prepare for and attend standardisation meetings as instructed by Quality Assurance
· Ongoing management and administration tasks relating to TCHC's CRM including but not limited to session planning, logging results, and providing feedback to learners
· Work alongside the Quality team to ensure that delivery meets the high expectations of TCHC
· Ensure any complaints are raised accordingly in line with TCHC’s Complaints Policy
Awarding bodies/Funders/OFSTED
· Follow all company policies and procedures.
· Be familiar with and research updates to qualification specifications and handbooks for subjects’ quality assured.
· Participate in OFSTED inspections as required.
· Be very familiar with key company policies.
Note: These duties are a guide to the work the post holder will initially be required to undertake. Amendments may be made from time to time as the role evolves and to meet changing circumstances and these do not form part of the contract of employment. Additionally, due to the ever-changing environment in which we operate, flexibility and the willingness to travel to other work locations are essential for these roles.
An enhanced DBS check will be a requirement for this position.
