Job description
Based on our many years of experience working in school and academy governance, the Education Governance team help Boards develop outstanding governance, robust accountability and clear strategic leadership by offering knowledgeable and practical governance training, advice, professional clerking and consultancy.
We are looking to recruit an Education Adviser: Governance to join our team on a permanent contract, to start as soon as possible. We want to recruit a friendly, assertive and self-starting individual who enjoys challenging situations and has the motivation to work within a thriving and busy governance team. They must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good time management and prioritisation skills as well as the ability to motivate others and achieve results.
We are also looking for the successful person to have:
Excellent knowledge of current education and governance legislation.
Extensive knowledge of education governance in maintained schools, single academies and multi academy trusts.
Understanding of key governance training issues and the ability to develop, plan, and deliver training, including a central training programme that is fit for purpose and meets customer needs.
Significant experience of building and developing effective working relationships with a diverse range of people, including Headteachers, Chairs of Governors / Trustees, Governors and Clerks.
The successful person will be required to deliver some of the training offered by the Governance team, both through its central training programme and bespoke sessions for specific Governing Boards; this will be through a mix of face to face and virtual training sessions. Thus, the successful candidate will need to be flexible as governance training is predominantly delivered in the evening.
