Editorial Content Manager

The Content Team that sits within the Marketing, Commercial and Enterprise department, is looking for an experienced and creative individual to join as Editorial Content Manager. Playing a vital role in the content team, you’ll be responsible for developing and writing editorial content for member, patron and donor audiences and across various communication channels, to drive engagement, revenue-generation, acquisition and retention of members and supporters.

You’ll research stories from across the Gardens and turn into compelling written content used across a variety of platforms including both print and digital, to engage our audiences in our vital science and conservation work and the impact on a global scale.

You’ll have experience of managing briefs from initial concepts through to delivery and possess excellent research, writing and editing skills, with a clear sense of how a story can be brought to life across different formats.

You will be dealing with various stakeholders across Kew from the horticulture team through to working with scientists, working to establish stories to engage our audiences to help drive donation and membership income. You will also work closely with other communications team across Kew to ensure consistent messaging.

You will be responsible for creating membership email communications, so you will need experience of creating content using a marketing and engagement platform such as Dotdigital.

Previous experience in either a communications or not-for-profit content role, the ideal person will have excellent attention to detail and be highly organized.

A team player, you will be able to work with multiple departments, collating, researching and writing content. You will have exceptional proof reading and editorial skills, including content generation. The ability to research and write compelling content covering not only the gardens but our science and conservation work. The ability to turn complex stories into easy to digest stories for key audiences is essential for this role.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

The salary will be £32,500 per annum.
