Job description

We are looking for a proactive and forward-thinking individual to support our Chief Valuer Group (CVG), it is one of the largest business units at the VOA which means there are an abundance of opportunities for learning, development and promotion.

The role is fast paced and multi-faceted giving you exposure to a wide variety of work, stakeholders and projects. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your time, workload and make decisions as well as driving improvement. Your ideas and recommendations for more efficient and effective ways of working will be encouraged enabling you to make a real impact to the team and the business.

You will be part of the CVG Business Operations team providing business administration support to a variety of teams across Chief Valuer Group.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Processing and managing procurement activity, including purchasing equipment using our internal MyBuy system.
  • Leading on assurance work to ensure all staff and Line Managers in particular, are adhering to key policies and guidelines.
  • Reviewing and preparing Management Information and Performance data.
  • Responding to queries and requests sent to the team’s central mailbox.
  • Drafting and issuing written instructions and communications to colleagues across CVG.

Person specification

The role requires someone who is self-motivated, can communicate well with a range of people, pay attention to detail and have a high level of organisational skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to work in a busy team environment and have the flexibility to switch, at short notice, between various tasks.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Sound analytical skills and good judgement to inform decisions or when providing opinions or advice to others.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
