We are looking for a dedicated Editorial Assistant to join the fiction team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

The opportunity
Reporting to the Editorial Director and supporting them, plus two other members of the team, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and editorial tasks, including checking proofs and jackets, writing copy, checking eBook ads, managing invoices, coding and payments, maintaining departmental systems, logging submissions, managing prize submissions and dealing with author and agent correspondence. You will also be tasked with arranging meetings, meeting preparation and research, and taking minutes, and you will have responsibility for updating metadata and copy across relevant titles. There will also be the opportunity to read submissions and manuscripts alongside the editors and write reader reports.
You will be responsible for liaising with the team and driving the Bantam Twitter and Instagram feeds. Excitingly, you will also contribute to team discussions about submissions, strategy and the marketplace.

Salary: You‘ll start on £26,500. Expect a £1,000 increase on your first anniversary in this role (if the role is extended) to reflect your growing contribution.
