About our team:
SAGE Research Methods Video Editorial team is responsible for the development of new digital-first video content for teaching and learning about research methods. We are working in a dynamic part of the business, increasing SAGE’s digital offering to library customers.
As Editorial Assistant you will be collaborating closely with colleagues across the SRM team to deliver content published in our annual collections. You will be working across different types of videos (Case Studies, Tutorials etc.), with contributors from all over the world, and support the editors as they work towards ambitious commissioning targets.
You will work closely with contributors, editors, and reviewers as they complete their work, as well as with colleagues in other departments, including Production, Marketing and Global Services.

- Able to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Some commissioning experience in video or digital product development is preferred but not essential.
- Able to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships with authors.
- Good capability to influence, persuade and negotiate.
- Strong IT skills, especially use of the MS Office suite.
- Able to demonstrate relevant experience or interest in academic publishing and/or social science research methods.
Support the Commissioning Editor in the commissioning and delivery of high-quality digital content.
Contribute to the video review process and collection and creation of metadata to ensure high quality of content.
Work closely and frequently with authors to coordinate schedules for filming activities, to ensure content is submitted to deadlines and developed to an excellent academic standard, and to develop rewarding long-term relationships.
Undertake a range of administrative duties that support timely delivery of content to production, including tracking individual pieces of content, contracting and payments.
Collaborate with the production, global digital production and global services teams to ensure timely launch of each module.
Independently represent SAGE Publishing externally at national and international conferences.
Contribute positively to departmental and cross departmental meetings and look for opportunities to improve workflows and processes.
