Infopro Digital group are recruiting for a Editorial Assistant on a permanent basis to join its Risk Books and Risk Journals are both brands which sit within the flagship family of Risk.net
Both the books and the journals’ content are available to Risk.net Premium subscribers and can be read by over 6,000 subscribers. Key to the Risk.net subscription business model, Risk Books and Risk Journals offer highly-technical content and deeper insights across a broad range of risk topics. Risk Books’ authors and editors are all thought-leaders, academics and industry experts, and the editorial boards of each of the 8 journals can boast the same pedigree.
Our parent company, Infopro Digital’s Insight Group, was acquired in 2017 along with its portfolio of market-leading global brands in the financial services sector, which includes Central Banking, Chartis Research, FX Week, Insurance Age, Risk.net and WatersTechnology. Through our proprietary editorial platforms, Insight creates unique industry-specific content for senior risk, technology and trading professionals at banks, asset managers and insurers. The Risk Books and Journals teams are looking for an Editorial Assistant to work with the Managing Editor and help take the brands into a new era, driving the content forward.
The role requires excellent organisational skills as well as interpersonal skills because the successful candidate will be deeply involved in the production of the content from day one! This means hands-on project management, editing and production of the titles, helping to research subject areas and liaising with external editors, typesetters and printers.
Working alongside the Journal Editor and the Commissioning Editor, the Editorial Assistant will ensure the timely publication of the print titles and a steady flow of online publications using multiple platforms and portals.
This role calls for a candidate who has excellent written and spoken English. A background or interest in mathematical or scientific publishing would be useful but is not essential. A good degree is desirable but is not a requirement.
Main responsibilities include:
- As a key member of the journals team you will contribute to the day-to-day oversight and workflow of risk management journals.
- Take an active role in the production process from handling submissions, through to production to ensure timely publication both online and in print.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with authors and editors to grow the reputation and standing of the brands.
- Undertake social media marketing, app production, newsletters and journal indexing.
- Research and conduct daily administrative tasks while supporting the Journal Editor, Commissioning Editor and Managing Editor.
