If you want to take your B2B journalism to a much deeper level and produce research-driven news stories and features for a wide range of professional industries, this could be the role for you.
This position sits within the media division of GlobalData and you will be editing a group of digital publications ranging from retail to hospitality.
GlobalData is looking for a full-time and permanent Editor with at least five years’ experience editing and writing for professional B2B publications who is brimming with ideas and excited to create and edit engaging content within set time frames.
Working closely with colleagues across the editorial, SEO, analyst and data teams, the Editor will be responsible for editing, writing, researching and publishing content across a group of websites and corresponding digital magazines.
Key responsibilities:
- To edit and produce original news articles and monthly features relevant for the key audiences.
- To get exclusive interviews, comments, and quotes that will promote GlobalData’s publications as leading sources of exclusive content within their industries.
- To establish a network of contacts and feature sources for each site.
- To build relationships within the sectors and act as an ambassador for the sites at events and shows in the UK and overseas when necessary.
- Develop content ideas that are engaging, relevant and in line with our audience strategy.
- To help maintain the highest standard of editing possible.
- To proof and sub work on the sites.
- Work with colleagues in the data journalism, research and analysis teams to develop exclusive data-led news and feature articles.
- Line-managing a small team of journalists
Core Competencies for Role
- At least five-years’ experience editing and writing original news and features for professional B2B publications.
- Ideally a professional journalism qualification that includes media law.
- Proven ability to identify, research and develop news and features.
- Command of the English language.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise and juggle a workload across multiple sites.
- Understanding and ability to interpret basic financial data.
- CMS and SEO knowledge desired but not essential.
- Strong eye for detail, proofing and subbing.
- Ability to work with data and industry reports.
